Youth Camp Focus
• Young players will learn the fundamentals and skills of the game of basketball as well as develop ideals in sportsmanship, leadership and citizenship.
• Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. An emphasis will be placed on the development of shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing and defensive skills.
• Time will be spent on footwork, pivots, balance and proper positioning. We will have 8 ft. goals for younger campers.
• Campers will have the opportunity to participate in freethrow, hot shot, speed dribbling, 3v3 and 1v1 contests. 5v5 games will also be a part of daily activities. Prizes will be awarded for all contest winners.
High School Camp Focus
• The objective for this camp is to provide the committed HS basketball player the opportunity to train and be evaluated by the Missouri S&T men’s basketball staff in a competitive training environment.
• Players will be challenged to enhance their basketball skills as well as to develop ideals in sportsmanship, leadership and citizenship.
• On-court sessions will include situational progressions from 1v1 play, to 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and culminating with 5v5 half court play. All designed to prepare each camper for full-court 5v5 competition.
• Camp will also include ample time each day for competitive 5v5 games. Followed by evaluation meetings for all players with members of the Missouri S&T Miner Basketball Coaching Staff.
Equipment Needed
All campers must provide their own basketball shoes and water bottles. Basketballs will be provided for use during camp. Please make sure all personal property brought to camp is properly marked by its owner. Missouri S&T Athletics and Miner Basketball is not responsible for the loss of personal property while at camp.
Arrival & Departure
The General Youth Basketball Camp will go from1-4pm each day. So that the camp schedule can be maintained, it is very important that campers arrive by 12:45pm each day and be picked up promptly at 4pm. Campers should be dropped off and picked up in the upstairs gym of theGale BullmanMulti-Purpose Bldg.
Health Insurance
Medical insurance is REQUIRED for all camp participants. Insurance company and policy numbers must be recorded.
Enrollment & Fees
A full payment of enrollment or a $60.00 deposit (Deposit for College Prep camp only) is required for all persons registering for the Miner Basketball Camp. Campers will be accepted all the way up until the start of camp on the first day as space permits, providing the staff to camper ratio will not be affected in a way that diminishes the quality of the camp. Campers will receive basketball instruction and a Missouri S&T Miner Basketball Camp t-shirt for enrollment in camp.
Cancellation policy: The University reserves the right to cancel its programs in the event of insufficient registrations, severe weather or natural disaster. In the event of cancellation, registrants will be notified immediately and all fees returned in full. Refund requests must be made directly through the Missouri S&T Miner Men’s Basketball Office. Individuals wishing to cancel their registration must do so 5 days prior to the beginning date of the camp. Refunds will not be made after this date. *Nominal, non-refundable processing fee applied for all online registrations.
